I used to live in Asheville, NC. The hurricane caused so much damage and destruction I found the pictures horrific. There are so many people who are still having difficulties with the basics of food and shelter. A friend owns a shop in nearby Hendersonville which also had a great deal of damage and she told me the Manna Food Bank building was destroyed. However, they quickly found a temporary location and started helping. People have been wanting to downsize their stash and she has already sold some and donated all the proceeds to Manna. The items she has sent are more needlepoint oriented that won't sell in her cross stitch shop. Then another friend sent me a few items as she can no longer see to stitch them. I asked her if she would mind if I donated the proceeds to help North Carolina. She of course said sure. So, I will not take a commission for selling their items but will donate all proceeds to Manna Food Bank.
